Consumer Credit Service
Let our consumer credit service help you
Unfortunately, maintaining a good credit score is not quite as simple as paying your bills on-time and as-agreed. In fact, you do not have to have negative information on your application or credit bureau file to be denied credit. Let MMI's consumer credit service help you understand how credit ratings work.
Our consumer credit service and your credit score
One of the most common questions posed to the credit counselors at Money Management International's consumer credit service is how participating in a debt management plan affects a credit score. It is a common misperception that working with a credit counseling service is viewed by lenders as being the same as if you file for bankruptcy. This is simply not the case. After having completed your debt management plan, your accounts should be on a current status and all notations that your payments are being paid through a consumer credit service should be removed. There should be no further notation on your credit bureau file that you used the services of a counseling agency.
